Start Menu: Windows 10 theme

The following is applicable to:

Start Menu: Windows 10 Dark theme
Start Menu: Windows 10 Light theme

AADS Start Menu's can be shown in a Single Column or with Sub Menu's.
AADS Start Menu's can be shown with Panels containing Tiles.
AADS Start Menu's can be positioned in each corner of the Desktop.

Single Column

Example

The whole Start Menu is shown in a single Column.
Sub Menu's are shown by expanding the small arrow.

Multiple Columns

Sub Menu's / SET's are shown in a Sub Menu:

Panels containing Tiles

Example

When the Look-and-Feel is "Panels containing Tiles", the Administrator can use the Directive $aad Show this Set as Panel.
Those Sets with this directive will be shown as a Panel containing Tiles.

When the Start Menu is shown with Panels containing Tiles, the User has a few options for customizing the Start Menu.

Re-size Start Menu

The Start Menu can be re-sized by drag-and-dropping the corner.

Move Panels

Using the mouse, drag-and-drop, Panels can be moved

Re-size Panels

Using the mouse, drag-and-dropping the "bottom-bar", the Panel can be re-sized.

Tile Sub Menu

Right-click mouse or the AppMenu key on an Tile gives a sub-menu

Tile View Item

Tile View Item shows the properties of a Tile.

The App-XXX number as shown is the number of the App in AADS Maintenance and Control:

Navigation

Cursor keys	Move the cursor around in the Start Menu, TreeView Panels and Tiles.
TAB Key	Jump from the TreeView to the Panels, and back.
Enter Key	When the cursor is on a Tile, the Application will be Executed. When the cursor is in the Treeview, and the selection is on a Set, the Set will be expanded When the cursor is in the Treeview, and the selection is on an Application, the Application will be executed.
App Menu Key	When a Tile is Selected, the App Menu key will show the Popup Menu for the Tile.
Left Mouse, Double Click	Double Click on an Application will Execute the Application.
Right Mouse, Click	Right Mouse click on a Tile will show the Popup Menu for the Tile.

Position of the Start Menu

With Explorer

If the User has Windows Explorer assigned, the position of the Start Menu is not determined by AADS Application Control, but it is determined by the position of the Windows TaskBar.

The User can change the position of the Taskbar by "drag-and-dropping" the Taskbar where he/she wants to have the Taskbar.
It is also possible to use a Taskbar Settings tool that is available when installing AADServer:

Without Explorer

If the User has not Windows Explorer assigned, the position of the Start Menu is determined by AADS Application Control.

Example

Note: the Users do not have Explorer assigned in this example.

Start Menu Settings

If the Administrator has assigned Start Menu Settings (AADServer) to the User, the User can change the position of the Start Menu:

Exit: leave this dialog without doing any settings.
Apply: leave this dialog while applying the settings.
Default: revert back to the global, default settings as done by the Administrator.
