Integrated PostScript / PDF Printer

• Users can print their documents to the AADServer printer. The AADServer printer appears between the other available printers when doing some printing.
• The printed documents either appear as PDF and / or Postscript (PS) files.

Location of the printed PDF / PS Files 

• The printed documents appear in the "AADS Printer Files" folder, which is located inside the Documents folder of the User. Example:

• The logged in User in this example is "domain003". The PDF / PS file is placed in the personal folder of the user: 

c:\users\domain003\My Documents\AADServer Print Files

Using AADS Client Software

Move, Copy or Print

• When using the AADS RDP+ Client Software, the user can select "where" the PDF / PS file will be located.
  • Leave on the Server. The printed documents will be placed in the folder "AADS Printer Files".
  • Copy to the Client PC.
  • Move to the Client PC.
• When using the AADS RDP+ Client Software, the user can print the PDF / PS on a local printer that is attached to the Client PC.
  • Print the document on a local printer attached to Client PC.

About "Print files on this Client"

Default RDP does make it possible to print documents on a local printer that is attached to the Client. Unfortunately this requires that the printer drivers on the Server, and on the Client, are capable of printing to this local printer. To often it happens that the printer drivers on the Server or the Client are not capable of printing to a local printer, especially with non-Microsoft, third party printer drivers on either the Server or the Client.

Because of this "problem", we made RDP+ and the Integrated PostScript / PDF Printer. It is an alternative approach to printing documents on the local printer that is attached to the Client PC.

Not using AADS Client Software

When not using AADS Client Software, only the first open "Leave print files on the Server" can be used, because the other options do need RDP+.
RDP+ is only available when using the AADS Client Software.
