HowTo to test an application on an AADS Terminal Server

There are unfortunately still many pieces of software available for Windows that are poorly written. Since Windows XP all Windows versions are able to handle multiple users. It is called Fast User Switching . Because of this, Microsoft has clear guidelines  for software developers how to write software, how to deal with multiple desktops, how to deal with disconnected users, etc. However, lots of vendors write poor software that can not deal with multiple desktops and / or multiple users.

If you want to test an application for being able to be used by multiple users, for being suitable for a Terminal Server, you can proceed as follows:

• Arrange some hardware, or create a VM using some virtualization software.
• Install AADS Terminal Server Demo,
• Install your application,
• Login 3 times, with 3 users, remotely, all at the same time,
• Start the application, 3 times, by each user,
• Use all functions of the application that are important for you,

and test that the application works OK for all the 3 concurrent users.
