Install Windows 11 x64 and run Windows Update until there are no more Updates.
Download and install "ESET Smart Protection Premium":
Usually there are problems with AV-software attempts to detect and block "PUAs", Potential Unwanted Software.
Heuristic / PUA does result in false positives, and results in disabling and deleting AADS program files (and other files, like Windows Executables...)
However in this test-case we have not encountered any problem related to detect and block "PUAs".
After the installation and reboot, we waited a while such that ESET could do an initial download, scan of the PC, etc.
Everything kept on running OK, except for 2 issues.
When the ESET Firewall is enabled, it is not possible for us to connect to the AADServer:
Possible we should have spend more time on it...
However, we think that the Windows Firewall + our own AADS RDP GeoIP Firewall do all the work that is needed, so we left this for what it is and disabled the ESET Firewall.
Our customers have reported to us strange keyboard / key input problems when using ESET AV.
Keys as pressed in the Client do not appear in the Remote Session; different keys do appear.
For example, repeatedly pressing the key "a" on a Client can result in a random string with all kind of different characters while one would expect, off course, only a lots of "a".
These FAQs are about AADS and Anti Virus software. Part of these FAQs is that we do attempt to be explicit about "which version" of the Anti Virus software we have used for the test. Attempting to be explicit about "the version" of the Anti Virus software is not always easy, because as usual with software vendors (pun intended...), they are many different versions such to facilitate different customers and to generate different business...
About download Eset NOD32 Anti Virus, it might "vary" what is being downloaded. At different moments the downloads seem to be different:
After Eset NOD32 was installed, it showed the following version:
Installation of software for this test has been done in the following order:
When installing Eset NOD 32, we choose to disable the option for PUA because usually this option only results in over-active behaviour of the Anti Virus software and detecting of false positives :
Once Eset NOD32 is installed, it shows as follows:
We have not encountered any problem. And the performance of the AADServer as perceived by us, was good.
