After a license conversion, the current AADS Terminal Server License as installed on the Server, will fail. Therefore it is required that you re-run the AADS Terminal Server Setup program. Do not un-install AADS Terminal Server. Re-run the AADS Terminal Server Setup program on top of the current AADS Terminal Server installation. The AADS Terminal Server Setup program will set the license correctly.

Offline versus Online License type for AADS Terminal Server

The License for our product can be an "Online" or an "Offline" license.

AADS Terminal Server Demo
Our AADS Terminal Server Demo uses an "Online" License, which is valid for 60 days. The Demo will receive the "Online" License while using the AADS Terminal Server. It is not possible to run AADS Terminal Server Demo with an "Offline" license.

The full, payed versions of our AADS Terminal Server products do use an "Offline" license as default. This implies that only once, while running the Setup program, an internet connection is required.

Pro / Con of an "Online" License

+	At any moment you can migrate your license to the next server, without any need for us. In case you need to do some testing or research, or you want to be flexible, you will be able to install AADS Terminal Server on your next server. The Online License is specifically suitable when using Virtualization.
+	The Online License type makes it possible to update AADS automatically in the event we have published an update.
-	The server needs an Internet connection and needs to be able to connect to our license servers. Once in 5 a 6 days, it sends a request to our license servers for a temporary license. If your Internet connection fails, AADS Terminal Server will be working for 10 a 12 days, after which it becomes "slow" or "fail". When doing a remote login, the user is informed about the failing license. If your Internet connection fails, you have 10 a 12 days to fix it before AADS Terminal Server becomes unresponsive. It is OK to disconnect the AADS Terminal Server from the internet, and use a PC browser for the "License Renewal" procedure.

Pro / Con of an "Offline" License

+	The server does not need a permanent Internet connection. Only once while running the Setup program an internet connection is required.
-	There is no automatic installation of an update in the event we have published an update. It will be required to manually check our website for updates, download the update and install the update.
-	If you want to install your license on the next server, you will need to use the "License Reset" procedure.

Is my AADS License an Online or Offline type?
At any moment you can obtain the details of your AADS License using the License History procedure. The License History will tell you if your AADS License is an Online or Offline license type.
