Support

The Support tabpage shows all AADS files, and informs you if they are OK or not.

Due to "over-active anti virus" software, it might happen 1 or more AADS programs gets deleted. AADS Maintenance and Control (if it is not deleted by some "over-active anti virus" software... ) will tell you about the problem:

Restoring the deleted programs might be possible using some kind of "restore" function of the "over-active" anti virus software. Be sure to "re-configure" the "over-active" anti virus, such that it does not delete anymore AADS files.

If the "over-active" anti virus software does not have a proper "restore" function, it will be required to proceed as follows:

• See the FAQs about AADS and "over-active" anti virus .
• Do attempt to re-configure the "over-active" anti virus, such that it does not delete anymore AADS files.
• After the re-configuring of the "over-active" anti virus, re-install AADS.
  • Do not un-install AADS.
  • Re-install AADS on top of the current installation.
• After the re-installation of AADS, all files should be shown OK:

When asking us support, please mail us the Support-ZIP-file. This ZIP-file will be placed on your desktop, and it will contain all the information we need to analyze the problem.

Important: when creating a Support-ZIP-file, be sure to login on the AADS Terminal Server as an Administrator. Otherwise information might not show up in the log file.

Uninstall

Uninstall does not solve AADS problems

Before you consider to uninstall AADS Terminal Server, you should know that uninstall AADS Terminal Server does not solve any problem.
Uninstall AADS Terminal Server does only do:

• uninstall:
  • delete all AADS files.
  • delete all AADS settings.
  • restore default Windows single logon, single desktop settings.

If you want to fix some kind of AADS Terminal Server problem, all you have to do is re-install AADS Terminal Server. Do not uninstall AADS Terminal Server. Re-install AADS Terminal Server on top of the current installation.

No other users should be active while uninstalling

Be sure that nobody is logged in except for the Administrator. In case other users are logged in, system files and settings are locked and can not be restored by AADS Terminal Server uninstall.

Do not manually remove AADS Program Files

In case there is some "other problem" with an AADS Terminal Server, and because of this you want to Uninstall AADS, you might be tempted to delete AADS Program Files, hoping that this will also remove AADS and fix this "other problem". It is not recommended to delete AADS Program Files. AADS is part of the Operating System, and deleting AADS Program Files will not solve any problem, but cause more problems.

If you want to Uninstall AADS Terminal Server, it can always be done as follows:

• Boot Windows into Save Mode.
• While running Windows in Save Mode, use AADS Maintenance Control, the Uninstall button, for Uninstalling AADS Terminal Server.

Manual activity after uninstall

After the uninstall of AADS Terminal Server you should perform the following actions:

• Configure your Firewall in such a way that remote desktop sessions are not possible.
• Remove all users form the group Remote Desktop users.
