Allow List

Note:

Allow List overrules

Whatever is entered on the Allow List, Automatic and Manual, is allowed to connect to the AADS Terminal Server.

Be careful with the Manual Allow list!

Suppose the PC of an Administrator is somehow "infected" with a RAT virus (Remote Access Tool), the PC of the Administrator does never gets blocked when the IP Address of this PC is on the Allow list...

Automatic Allow List

The Automatic Allow List will only contain the local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server.
If you want to place some IP Addresses on the Allow List, use the Manual Allow List.

If you de-select Block access from Localhost to Localhost

the Automatic Allow List contains all local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server.

If you de-select, access from Localhost to Localhost is allowed, because the local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server are on the Automatic Allow List.

If you select Block access from Localhost to Localhost, which is recommended to do,
the Automatic Allow List contains will not contain the local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server; the Automatic Allow List will be empty.
If you select,  access from Localhost to Localhost is not allowed, because the local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server are on the Automatic  Deny List .

The Automatic Allow List is empty...

The local IP Addresses of this AADS Terminal Server are on the Automatic  Deny List

Manual Allow List

The Administrator can enter IP Addresses or ranges of IP Addresses:

Note: As you can see in this example, when a Public IP Address is entered that "does not exist" in the real world, it will be shown with "Unknown country". However, this might also happen if the GeoIP Location database is old/expired and should be renewed...
