Install AADS Client for Mac OSX

First: Build AADS Client software

The AADS Client software can easily be build. You can deliver 2 types of AADS Client Software to your users:

• Without SSL. This type can do  RDP+ sessions and Load Balancing.
• With SSL. This type can do SSL sessions, RDP+ sessions and Load Balancing.

Step 1:

• Copy the Client Build to your HOME Folder:

Step 2:

• Double-click on the OSX.zip file. The "unzipped" folder rdpOSXclient will appear:

Step 3:

• Double-click / Enter the folder rdpOSXclient. The rdpOSXclient App will appear:

Double-click or start the rdpOSXclient App:

OSX...Can not start the Application...UnZip...is it bug...?

Occasionally it happens that it is not possible to start the rdpOSXclient.app. OSX will show you an error that this program can not be started.
Although we are not sure, it seems as if occasionally UnZip fails on OSX.
When it happens that OSX refuses to start the unzipped application, proceed as follows:

• Delete the unzipped folder called rdpOSXclient.
  • Do not delete the ZIP File. The ZIP File is fine. The problem is with unzipping on OSX.
• UnZip again the ZIP File.
• The folder rdpOSXclient will be created again, containing the application.

When the UnZip is done a second time, usually it works OK.

X11 - XQuartz

OSX Catalina and newer

• AADS Client software does not require other packages/software.
  • AADS Client software does not require X11 or XQuartz to be installed on OSX.

OSX Mavericks ... OSX Mojave

The AADS client software requires at least OSX 10.9 "Mavericks" to be installed. The AADS client software for OSX can not be used on older versions of OSX.

It also requires the installation of the X11 - Quartz package.
When the AADS Client software for Mac OSX does not see that X11 - XQuartz package is installed, it will inform the user:

When the user clicks on the Information button, a webpage about X11 - XQuartz will be opened.

Intel CPU

The AADS Client for OSX can only be used on an Apple with an Intel CPU.
